I am thrilled and honored to be a member of the team at The Midway Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Roach has been a wonderful mentor to me. He guided me through my final preceptorship of my nurse practitioner program at Vanderbilt University, and has generously brought me on staff. What I love about integrative medicine is that it has a large focus on disease prevention. As an intensive care nurse at the University of Kentucky, I saw many patients who ended up in critical care simply because they made poor choices in terms of how they treated their bodies (i.e. poor nutrition, smoking, and alcohol consumption). When we honor our bodies through proper nutrition, exercise, and spiritual well-being, we can achieve amazing results. These positive choices not only prevent illness, but can also be curative when one is suffering from a chronic condition. I look forward to welcoming more patients to this wonderful clinic.
